A wonderfully characterful vintage Steiff ‘Assy’ donkey, dating from the late 1970s/early 1980s.
Made in Austria in soft brown plush with a wonderfully shaggy black mane and expressive face. He retains his original yellow Steiff label, numbered 1510/14, together with the original Steiff button-in-ear badge – both clearly present and intact, providing strong confirmation of authenticity and enhancing his collectable appeal.
Condition:
It  is very good for his age, with only light, age-appropriate wear to the plush consistent with gentle display over time. The fur remains full and soft, with no significant bald patches or damage noted, and the features remain well defined. The label and button are securely attached, and the overall structure is sound, making him a well-preserved example of this sought-after Steiff character.
A charming little piece in honest vintage condition, offering both decorative appeal and collectable value. He would sit beautifully on a shelf, amongst books, or as part of a curated Steiff collection.
