A fabulous and highly decorative vintage ceramic flamingo tureen by Rising Hawk, England, dating from the latter part of the 20th century.
Modelled as a wonderfully stylised flamingo, the piece is finished in a vibrant coral-pink glaze with cream and black detailing and moulded feather decoration to the body. The rounded tureen retains its original removable lid and, most unusually, its matching flamingo-form ladle with long curved neck and cream bowl.
The underside bears the impressed Rising Hawk England factory mark.
A wonderfully eccentric piece of British vintage ceramics with a strong 1970s/80s decorative feel. Equally striking displayed in a kitchen, dining room or bar, and increasingly difficult to find complete with both lid and matching ladle.
