The panoramic composition depicts a lively harbour scene with sailing boats, figures and waterfront architecture, rendered in Dufy’s distinctive loose, expressive style and wonderful palette of blues, greens, ochres and reds.
Presented behind glass in a simple gilt-toned wooden frame. The N.Y.G.S. mark is visible within the image, with the original New York Graphic Society label retained to the reverse, identifying the original work as an oil on canvas held by the Stedelijk Museum, Amsterdam.
A wonderfully decorative vintage piece, particularly attractive for its long, narrow proportions.
