A charming vintage Franciscan England ceramic bowl, dating from the mid-to-late 20th century.
Of shallow circular form, the bowl has a wonderfully earthy speckled glaze in muted olive and ochre tones, centred with a stylised floral motif in soft yellow, green and blush. The organic palette and abstract decoration give it a distinctly mid-century studio pottery feel.
The underside is impressed “5039 FRANCISCAN ENGLAND.”
A lovely small decorative piece, ideal as a pin dish, trinket bowl or simply displayed as part of a collection of vintage ceramics.
Condition: Good vintage condition with age-related crazing to the glaze and some areas of staining and surface marking, particularly to the central decoration, all consistent with age and use. Please refer to photographs.
