A wonderfully characterful vintage Catalan pottery serving dish modelled as a pig, with a warm honey and brown glazed finish and the words “Tacos de Pernil” across the body. Hand-finished with charmingly naïve detailing, including a small green eye, moulded feet and curled tail.
Likely dating from the mid-20th century, this would originally have been intended for serving ham or charcuterie and now makes a fabulous decorative piece for a kitchen, dining room or bar.
There is attractive overall crazing to the glaze, together with some rubbing and small areas of glaze loss consistent with age and use. Please see photographs.
