A wonderfully decorative vintage bentwood beech hall stand, dating from the early to mid-20th century and designed in the manner of Thonet.
The upper section features an elegant arrangement of large scrolling coat and hat hooks, with a second tier of smaller hooks beneath. The tall central column leads to a circular umbrella and walking-stick holder, supported on four beautifully curved, splayed legs.
The wood has a rich, dark reddish-brown finish, with attractive rubbing and wear acquired through use. Both sculptural and practical, this would make a particularly striking addition to a hallway, boot room, dressing room or retail interior.
Condition:
In good, sturdy vintage condition, with surface marks, rubbing and signs of age throughout. There are some later fixings, consistent with its continued practical use. Please see photographs for full details.
