A handsome and well-proportioned Victorian pedestal desk, dating from the mid-19th century and crafted in solid walnut, with a rich, warm tone and attractive natural figuring throughout.

The desk features a generous rectangular top with softly rounded moulded edges, above three frieze drawers and two banks of pedestal drawers, all fitted with original turned wooden knobs.

The drawers are traditionally constructed and retain their original layout, offering excellent practical storage. Raised on plinth bases, the proportions are compact and elegant, making this an ideal desk for modern home working.

The piece is of particularly useful scale, with a good knee height and relatively shallow depth, allowing it to sit comfortably in a study, bedroom, or living space without overwhelming the room.

Presented in very good antique condition, with a pleasing patina and surface wear commensurate with age. The desk is structurally sound and all drawers run smoothly. Wear is entirely consistent with an authentic Victorian piece and adds to its character.

A timeless and versatile desk, equally suited to a traditional interior or a more relaxed, layered scheme.
