A charming set of four antique 19th-century hunting prints after Henry Alken (1785–1851), the celebrated British sporting artist renowned for his humorous depictions of hunting and equestrian life.

Each depicts a wonderfully characterful hunting scene, capturing various mishaps and escapades in the field, with touches of colour highlighting the traditional hunting pinks.

Presented as a complete set in old dark wooden frames with narrow inner slips. The frames retain their aged backing boards and hanging rings, adding to their authentic period character.

A particularly decorative collection, ideal hung together as a group in a country house interior, study, hallway or boot room.

Dimensions (each):

Height: 24cm

Width: 28cm

Condition:

Antique condition with expected age-related wear throughout. The prints display toning, foxing and some staining consistent with their age. The frames have knocks, marks and losses to the finish, all contributing to their character. Please refer to photographs.
