Rare Mid-Century Tripod Table with Pink-Patinated Copper Top, c.1950s
A striking and unusually refined mid-century tripod table featuring a solid copper top that has developed a beautiful, naturally occurring pink rose patina. This rare colouration is the result of slow oxidation over decades and gives the table a warm, soft glow that reads almost like polished stone or lacquer — completely unique and impossible to replicate convincingly.
The tapered wooden legs and circular lower shelf add classic mid-century balance and lightness, making this an elegant accent piece for a sitting room, hallway or bedroom. The combination of sculptural form and decorative copper surface gives the table a distinctly boutique, designer feel.
Measurements:
H 66 cm
W 55.5 cm
D 55.5 cm
Condition:
Beautifully aged. The copper top shows tonal variation, ring marks and gentle surface mottling consistent with its patination; these are part of its appeal. The wooden legs and shelf show expected wear for age but are structurally sound.
A rare, characterful table that makes a perfect stand for a lamp, sculpture or floral arrangement. Exceptionally decorative and highly collectable.
Tables with genuine copper tops are increasingly sought after, and rose-toned patination is particularly desirable among collectors and designers. This example combines:
• Solid copper rather than laminate or formica
• A rare pink/rose patina
• Classic 1950s tripod form
• Good proportions and styling potential
