A pair of mid-20th century tub chairs made in the Regency chinoiserie manner, the elm frames have been carved in a smart imitation of bamboo. Although made in the mid-20th century, these seats closely follow the tub chair form, favoured by English designers in the late 1790s and early 1800s.
