A charming mid-century European relief desk globe, dating from the Cold War era, and showing period political geography including the USSR, East Germany and Czechoslovakia. The globe is beautifully detailed with raised mountain ranges, crisp cartography and a pleasing mid-century colour palette, all mounted on its original base with a metal semi-meridian and degree scale.
 
Typical of European educational globes of the period, it is unlabelled, and remains in good vintage condition, with only light age-related wear consistent with its history and use. The proportions make it especially well suited to a desk, bookshelf or study.
