Mid Century Ercol Elm Canterbury Trolley / Magazine Rack – Model 363 (1960s–1970s)

A classic mid-century Ercol Canterbury trolley, Model 363, beautifully crafted in solid elm with Ercol’s characteristic turned spindle frame and softly shaped shelves.

Designed by Lucian Ercolani and produced by Ercol in England, this elegant three-tier trolley dates from the late 1960s–1970s. Originally intended as a mobile Canterbury magazine rack, it was designed to sit beside a sofa or armchair, holding newspapers, magazines or books.

The trolley stands on its original castors, allowing it to be easily moved around the room. Today these versatile pieces are also widely used as drinks trolleys, side tables or vinyl storage, making them a practical addition to both modern and traditional interiors.

The piece retains its original Ercol maker’s label to the underside, confirming authenticity. The solid elm shelves display beautiful natural grain, particularly to the top shelf.

A timeless example of British mid-century design, combining practicality with the quality craftsmanship for which Ercol is renowned.
