An elegant late Victorian gilt wall mirror dating from around 1900, retaining its original decorative composition (gesso) frame with finely moulded floral and scrolling ornament.
The reverse retains the original retailer’s label for Hibbert Brothers, Picture Frame Manufacturers, Norfolk Art Galleries, Sheffield, a long-established firm founded in 1834, providing an attractive piece of provenance.
The restrained gilt finish and slim profile make it a versatile mirror, equally suited to a hallway, bedroom, dressing room or above a fireplace. The original mirror plate displays well and offers a bright, clear reflection, while the period frame has developed a gentle patina consistent with its age.
Presented ready to hang.
