A late C19th three-tier table in kingwood and rosewood inlay in an ornate floral design. The top has a gilt gallery and hand carved finials terminating in a rose. The cabriole legs finish in the classic Louis XVI os de mouton style.
The term “os de mouton” (French for sheep-bone) refers to the style of the Louis XIV period and the transition to more fluid forms: straight lines gave way to curves.
