A handsome antique mirror with a beautifully mellow maple frame, dating to the late 19th or early 20th century.
The broad moulded frame has a warm honey tone with lovely natural patination, softened edges and age-related wear throughout. Its simple architectural form gives it a particularly versatile look, working equally well in a traditional or more contemporary interior.
The frame appears to be genuinely period, while the mirror plate and backing may be later replacements.
There is some historic wear and damage to the frame, including small losses and knocks, all shown in the photographs. We rather like the character as it is, although it could be sympathetically tidied by our restorer if preferred.
