A late 19th century ebonised beech dining chair, dating from circa 1890–1910.
The shaped crest rail is decorated with carved shell motifs, supported by turned spindle uprights and a shaped mid rail. The seat retains a hand-caned panel in good condition, offering both comfort and texture against the dark ebonised frame. The turned front legs and stretchers give the chair a refined yet practical feel, typical of late Victorian dining furniture.
The ebonised finish has softened over time, with gentle wear to the edges revealing warm timber tones beneath an honest and attractive patina.
A versatile occasional chair, ideal for use as a desk chair, hallway accent or as part of a mixed dining arrangement
