A wonderfully characterful late 19th-century wooden frame, extensively decorated with hand-worked geometric chip carving.

The dark brown-black finish has softened and rubbed naturally with age, revealing glimpses of the warm wood beneath. Its strong rectangular form and repeated star-like motifs give it an architectural, almost Soanian quality.

The antique frame has recently been fitted with a new mirror plate and can be hung in either portrait or landscape orientation. A distinctive decorative mirror with a beautifully timeworn surface.

Dimensions:

H 89 × W 73 × D 5cm

Frame width: 10cm

Condition:

Good antique condition, with expected surface wear, rubbing, historic splits, knocks and small losses consistent with its age and handmade character. The mirror plate is newly fitted and in excellent condition.
