A substantial and beautifully proportioned vintage elm dining table, with a wonderfully characterful top and an elegant, restrained base.
The long rectangular top is constructed from broad elm boards with breadboard ends and has a lovely warm, honeyed tone. The surface retains plenty of natural character, including knots, old marks, scratches and colour variation, all of which give the table an attractive, time-worn appearance.
The base has a more refined feel, with a fluted frieze and slender fluted legs, giving the table a subtle French Directoire influence without feeling overly formal.
At just over 2.5 metres long, it is a generous dining table and would comfortably seat around 8–10 people, depending on chair size.

Condition:
Good vintage condition with age-related wear throughout. The top retains numerous old marks, scratches, knots, indentations and colour variation consistent with use. The lower sections of the legs have later extensions/additions, visible on close inspection. These have been incorporated sympathetically and the table remains sturdy and practical.
