A vibrant and beautifully handled watercolour by J. Lucien Grellet, signed lower right. Known for his Impressionistic harbour and fishing-boat scenes, Grellet worked in France throughout the mid-20th century, producing lively marine compositions characterised by energetic brushwork, soft reflection and rich colour.

This work depicts a traditional sailing vessel with figures on the water, painted with fluid strokes and subtle tonal blending. The reflections in the water and the movement of the sails create a dynamic, atmospheric composition.
