A striking and highly decorative Italian mid-century wall mirror, dating from the 1950s, featuring an elegant gilt metal floral design set against a vibrant ruby red enamelled metal frame.
The circular mirror is housed within a deep dished metal surround finished in a rich translucent ruby red enamel, beautifully complemented by scrolling gilt metal tendrils and stylised flowers. The finely detailed floral ornament and warm gilt finish create a glamorous composition, typical of the decorative Italian mirrors produced during the mid-twentieth century.
The mirror retains its original mirror plate within a finely beaded gilt surround, while the reverse has its original wooden back with metal retaining cover and hanging loop.
