A striking mid-century Italian gilt tole wall mirror dating from the 1950s–60s, beautifully handcrafted with sculptural roses, trailing leaves and an elegant twisted rope border. The decorative openwork frame is characteristic of Florentine tole work and has a wonderful light, airy appearance.
The original mirror plate displays an attractive foxed patina, adding warmth and character that only comes with age. An unusual feature is the original twin light fittings concealed behind the mirror, designed to create a subtle illuminated halo effect when mounted on the wall.

Very good vintage condition with age-related wear to the original gilt finish and light oxidation, all consistent with age. The original mirror plate has attractive foxing. The mirror retains its original twin light fittings to the reverse; these are untested and are likely to require rewiring and should be inspected by a qualified electrician before use. The mirror displays beautifully as a decorative piece whether illuminated or not.
