    Jarman was primarily a landscape and figurative painter, and was heavily influenced by the artist Henry Scott Tuke. He exhibited frequently between 1899 and 1938, showing work at the Royal Academy 15 times, as well as with the Royal Institute of Oil Painters and the Royal Society of British Artists. He lived much of his life around London, in Leytonstone, Essex and West Hampstead.
