A charming decorative occasional table featuring a beautifully hand-painted circular top, set on a turned ebonised base with elegant tripod legs.
The top is richly decorated with a central floral spray surrounded by a scrolling foliate border in gilt, red and green tones, all set against a black ground. The design reflects late Victorian taste, with a strong Continental influence.
The base is turned and finished in black, complementing the top well. It has been refreshed at some point, giving it a smart and practical finish for everyday use.
Originally a tilt-top table, the top is now fixed in position, making it stable and ready for use as a lamp or side table.
Dimensions:
Height: 64 cm
Diameter: 51 cm
Approximate age: Late 19th to early 20th century (c.1880–1920)
Condition:
Good overall decorative condition. The top shows surface wear and light scratching consistent with age and use, which does not detract from its appearance. Structurally sound.
A very attractive and versatile piece, ideal as a side or occasional table.
