A tall Gothic Revival church candlestand in solid ebonised oak, featuring a hexagonal base and top, a faceted tapering column and shaped corbels. A typical piece of late C19th/Early C20th ecclesiastical furniture, originally intended to hold a pricket candle or brass candlestick (small historic fixing holes to the top suggest former fittings).
Its architectural presence makes it ideal for displaying a sculpture or plant, or for supporting a large candle when used with a protective metal dish.
