An elegant George III style mahogany writing desk, of pleasingly simple proportions and particularly good colour.
The rectangular top displays attractive figuring to the mahogany and is finished with a moulded edge. Below are two useful frieze drawers positioned either side of a generous central kneehole, each with a moulded front, turned wooden handle and original-style keyhole.
Raised on four finely reeded square tapering legs terminating in block feet, with restrained moulded detailing throughout.
A handsome and practical piece that would work particularly well as a writing desk, dressing table or occasional console. Its relatively compact proportions make it particularly suitable for a bedroom, study or drawing room.
