A charming mid-century fruitwood table lamp base, featuring an elegant lathe-turned column and a beautifully hand-carved floral frieze to the base.
The carved band is particularly attractive, with a repeating garland of flowers and foliage executed in good depth, giving the piece a sculptural and decorative quality. The turned column above provides a pleasing contrast, creating a well-balanced and refined form.
The fruitwood has developed a warm, mellow tone over time, with a subtle patina that works effortlessly in both traditional and contemporary interiors.
The lamp has been rewired and fitted with a brass bayonet fitting, and is in working order.
