‘Adam-Style’ (or ‘Adamesque’) is an C18th Neoclassical style of interior design and architecture, as practised by Scottish architect William Adam and his sons, but which maintained its popularity well into the early 19th century when it was picked up by other makers and architects. The Adam-style is most notably identified by classical Roman decorative motifs, such as vases, vine swags and ribbons.
