A refined early 20th century mahogany drop-leaf occasional table by the respected Scottish maker Andrew Thomson & Sons, Glasgow.
Of elegant and highly practical form, the table features a rectangular top with two drop leaves, allowing it to be used compactly or fully extended as required. The frieze is fitted with two drawers, each retaining their original brass handles, providing useful storage.
Raised on distinctive lyre end supports united by a turned stretcher, and set on original castors, the piece has a lightness and versatility that makes it ideal for a variety of settings — as a side table, lamp table or compact writing table.
A well-proportioned and attractive example with a warm mahogany tone, combining functionality with classic Edwardian design.
