A large and impressive early 19th-century Staffordshire blue and white transfer-printed meat platter, dating to around 1820–1840. Decorated in the classic romantic style of the period, the scene features architectural ruins, figures, and sweeping landscapes framed by a richly detailed floral border. The deep cobalt tones and finely engraved details are typical of quality Staffordshire makers such as Enoch Wood & Sons, Ridgway, or Davenport.
Measuring 48 cm, this is a substantial display piece with strong decorative presence. The platter shows its age with crazing, staining, old hairlines and evidence of earlier repair, but it remains structurally sound and highly decorative. A lovely example of early blue-and-white transferware with true period charm
