Early 19th Century Regency Rosewood Circular Tilt-Top Breakfast table
A superb early 19th century Regency rosewood circular tilt-top centre / breakfast table, dating to circa 1825–1840.
The top is veneered in beautifully figured Brazilian rosewood of exceptional depth and movement, bookmatched to striking effect.
The rich, dramatic grain gives the table enormous visual presence while retaining the elegance associated with the Regency period.
The circular top rests on a turned central column raised on a finely proportioned tripod base with scroll feet and inset roundels, a classic Regency form.
The tilt mechanism is original and functions correctly, allowing the top to be raised when not in use.
At 119cm in diameter, this is an unusually usable size, comfortably seating four and accommodating six at a push.
It works equally well as a breakfast table, a centre table in a hall, or as a statement dining piece in a period townhouse
