A handsome early 19th-century ash and elm Windsor armchair, featuring a tall two-tier hoop and stick back centred by a decorative pierced splat.
The shaped arms are supported by finely turned uprights, above a broad solid elm seat with attractive natural grain. Raised on turned legs united by a traditional crinoline stretcher.
The chair has developed a lovely warm, rich colour and patina, with the expected knocks, marks and surface wear commensurate with age and use, adding to its character.
