A substantial mid-20th-century mahogany upholstered stool of traditional form, the generously sized rectangular seat finished in a richly patterned kilim textile with bold geometric motifs and warm, earthy tones. The solid mahogany base is raised on square legs united by stretchers, giving the piece a pleasing sense of weight, balance and quality.
Of particularly good proportions, this versatile stool works well as an occasional seat, low table or footstool, and sits comfortably within both traditional and relaxed interiors. The contrast between the decorative textile and the restrained mahogany frame gives the piece strong visual presence without overpowering a space.
The upholstery is clean and secure, and the stool presents very well overall.
Dimensions:
94 cm wide × 78 cm deep × 40 high
Condition :
Very good condition overall. The stool is structurally sound, with a solid mahogany base showing light surface wear and minor marks consistent with age and use. The kilim tapestry top shows wear marks commensurate with age, adding to its character, and is neatly finished with a petrol blue GP & J Baker linen binding, which remains clean and secure. No significant damage noted. The upholstery is firm and the stool presents well overall.
