Arts & Crafts Oak Table Lamp Base
Attributed to Charles Clee, CSI, CIE – circa 1900–1920
A well-proportioned Arts & Crafts oak table lamp base, dating to the early 20th century and attributed to Charles Clee (CSI, CIE).
The design is characteristically restrained, with a turned baluster stem rising from a broad, stepped circular base. The emphasis on form, proportion and material is typical of the Arts & Crafts movement, allowing the quality of the oak and its natural grain to take centre stage.
The timber has a rich, warm tone with attractive grain throughout and a pleasingly tactile, hand-finished surface. The simplicity of the silhouette makes it a versatile piece, equally suited to traditional and more contemporary interiors.
Rewired and PAT tested.
