A characterful and finely carved oak table lamp base attributed to Sir Charles Clee (CSI, CIE), displaying bold craftsmanship and strong architectural presence.
The base is richly decorated with a deeply carved foliate motif, rising to a turned column. The carving is crisp and confident, giving the piece a sculptural, almost architectural quality. The oak has a warm, mellow tone with attractive natural grain throughout.
A versatile and decorative piece, ideal for a side table, desk, or console. Pairs particularly well with a simple linen or card shade to balance the detail of the base.
Rewired and PAT tested.
Finished to the underside with mustard yellow baize.
