An attractive brass Arts & Crafts jardinière by Henry Loveridge, suitable for a variety of uses.
Henry Loveridge & Co. was established in 1840 and went on to become one of the largest japanning firms in Britain. Originally producing papier-mâché and tin japanware, the company later turned to copper and brassware as the japanning trade declined in the latter half of the nineteenth century. This piece reflects that transition, combining fine craftsmanship with the simple, honest design characteristic of the Arts & Crafts movement.
