A beautifully decorative antique brass tray, most likely Persian or Middle Eastern and dating from the late 19th to early 20th century.
The circular tray is exceptionally richly worked with dense engraved and repoussé-style decoration, incorporating scrolling floral and foliate motifs surrounding a striking interlaced geometric star design to the centre. The border is particularly attractive, with a raised and finely detailed scalloped edge.
The underside bears a hand-incised mark or inscription, possibly in Arabic or Persian script.
A highly decorative piece with a wonderfully aged surface, ideal displayed on a table or console, propped against a wall as an objet d’art, or incorporated into a layered interior scheme.

Condition:
In antique condition with extensive age-related surface wear, tarnishing, discolouration, oxidation and areas of verdigris throughout.
