A charming antique child’s Windsor-style chair with wonderfully characterful proportions and a beautifully aged, warm patina.
The chair features a shaped solid wooden seat beneath a sweeping horseshoe back, supported by slender spindles, with splayed legs joined by stretchers. The diminutive scale and traditional construction give it enormous decorative appeal.
The chair displays considerable wear commensurate with its age, including knocks, marks, surface wear and historic repairs. There is also evidence of historic woodworm activity, and the chair will be treated for woodworm prior to sale as a precaution. These signs of age have been retained as part of the chair’s character and patina.
A particularly attractive little piece, perfect as a decorative child’s chair in a nursery or bedroom, or simply as an interesting piece of vernacular furniture.
