A beautiful pair of hand-painted faience lidded vases from Coimbra, Portugal, made by Vasco Vieira Lusitânia in the traditional 18th-century style. Each vase is richly decorated in blue and white with stylised birds, deer, and floral motifs, characteristic of the renowned Coimbra faience tradition.
The pair displays the soft cobalt palette and fluid brushwork typical of Portuguese tin-glazed earthenware, offering wonderful symmetry for display on a mantelpiece, console, or sideboard.
