A handsome late 19th-century cast iron boot scraper, with an integral shaped mud tray and decorative moulded supports.

The scraper is raised on two turned and lobed uprights, joined by an ornately cast horizontal bar with scrolling and fan-shaped detail. The substantial shaped base has a moulded border and recessed tray designed to catch mud and debris.

A wonderfully practical piece of Victorian ironwork, with an attractive naturally aged surface and rich rusty-brown patina. Ideal for a porch, boot room, hallway or garden entrance.

Condition:

Good antique condition with surface rust, oxidation and general weathering throughout, consistent with age and intended use. Structurally sound, with the original aged finish retained.
