A beautifully crafted pair of early C19th English country armchairs in solid mahogany. Each chair features a gently curved top rail, shaped open arms, and square legs joined by stretchers. Subtle differences between the two chairs reflect the individuality of hand craftsmanship typical of provincial Georgian furniture.

Constructed with traditional pegged mortise-and-tenon joints and original seat rails, these chairs display fine early C19th joinery and excellent structural integrity. The later drop-in seats are upholstered in soft chartreuse velvet, offering a pleasing contrast to the rich, warm mahogany.

Ideal as occasional, hall, or dining chairs, they bring understated country house character and timeless English Country House style to any interior.
