An attractive cross-framed Savonarola chair, with a beautiful carved back piece inscribed with a male head to centre and floral motifs that are continued down the arms and legs. A new leather seat has been added.
 
The name “Savonarola” derives from a chair found in the convent of San Marco in Florence which was used by the 15th century Italian Dominican priest Girolamo Savonarola.
