A handsome English Windsor armchair dating from the second half of the 19th century, constructed principally from ash with a broad, shaped elm seat.
The unusually tall double-bow back features numerous slender spindles and two decorative pierced central splats. Shaped arms rest upon turned supports, while the turned legs are united by an elegant crinoline stretcher.
A particularly attractive country chair with a wonderfully time-softened surface and rich variations in its warm brown patina.
Condition: 
Good antique condition with expected knocks, scratches, colour variations and general wear. An old split is present on the front right-hand side of the seat, together with wear and small losses along its front edge. Please refer to the photographs.
