19th-Century Ash and Elm Double-Bow Windsor Armchair
A handsome 19th-century English Windsor armchair, constructed principally from ash with a broad, shaped elm seat.
The tall double-bow back is formed with slender spindles and two decorative pierced central splats. Shaped arms are supported by finely turned uprights, above turned legs united by stretchers.
A particularly characterful chair with wonderfully worn surfaces, attractive grain and a rich, time-softened patina.
Condition: Good antique condition, with age-related wear, fading, old marks, scratches, small splits and colour variations throughout. These are consistent with its age and contribute to its character. Please refer to the photographs.
