Herend Cat Playing with a Ball in Red Rust fish scale design. This charming cat figurine is a nice little piece, showing a dynamic pose of an animal in play. The first figurine of the Herend Porcelain Manufactory decorated with a feather-like scaled design was made in 1871. Back then, the famous Hungarian writer Mór Jókai received a rooster with this pattern. The scaled pattern soon became known worldwide as Herend’s specialty. A variety of different animal figurines became sought after collectors’ pieces.
