A C17th Continental walnut coffer, possibly Spanish, with a moulded single plank top above plain boarded sides with applied iron mounts, carrying handles and a large and impressive pierced lock plate. The whole coffer is raised on a pierced plinth base, with a further modern base below to protect the original carving.
